Lead After-School Activities for Low Income Kids

Impact NW is looking for volunteers to coordinate and lead fun group activities for low income children at the Eastgate housing site. Come in for one afternoon each week to engage with our youth, encourage them to learn and have a blast in the process!

• Develop meaningful relationships with children in the community
• Gain experience working with youth and resident coordinator staff members

Help plan and supervise group activities for one afternoon each week. Activities vary by day:
• Mondays - science club
• Tuesdays - games
• Wednesday - art
• Thursday -- homework

• Comfortable working with children from low income families
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in elementary and high school math, writing, and English literature is appreciated
• Patient, encouraging, responsible and punctual
• Able to pass a criminal background check

Commitment and Schedule:
• Monday -- Thursday afternoons, 3:30 -- 5:30 pm
• Schedule and activity is flexible as long as you are committed to the same day and time each week
• 6 month minimum commitment
