Janus Youth Programs has the following positions available. Janus is a nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless and street-dependent youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW Washington. Services also include alternative education (Lents Education Center) and an Urban Agricultural program. We are an agency that values diversity and values the contributions made by our staff in helping the youth we serve. All positions involve working together with strong, supportive teams to support and make a difference in a young person's life.

Plan and implement a comprehensive Community Events program to secure annual support from businesses, groups, and individuals. Events and activities include, but are not limited to, the Waterfront Blues Festival, Oregon Harvest Dinner, statewide and local food and fund drives, cause-related marketing opportunities, and gifts-in-kind for auctions and other services. This position requires the following:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years experience in event management in a non-profit setting. (Educational qualifications may be waived depending on work history.)

Volunteering

OMSI Volunteer Greeters Needed

POSITION SUMMARY: Greeters welcome visitors to OMSI and provide them with friendly and helpful service as they enter the museum’s exhibit halls.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greet visitors and welcome them to the museum. • Take tickets and check membership cards. • Assist visitors in understanding the layout of the museum. • Give clear directions and provide information about events happening throughout the museum. • Check out wheelchairs and strollers to visitors. • Organize groups for tours on the USS Blueback submarine as needed.

A Great Holiday Volunteering Opportunity: Gift Delivery!

Holiday Cheer is a special project of the Metropolitan Family Service program, Project Linkage, in collaboration with other local groups. Holiday Cheer volunteers deliver gift bags to more than 200 isolated older adults and persons with disabilities living in north, northeast and southeast Portland during the holiday season. This is a wonderful service opportunity for individuals, groups and families!

 

Registered volunteers are responsible for picking up gift bags from the Project Linkage office and delivering them to the homes of recipients. While the gifts are great, the emphasis of this project is on the visit--a bright spot in the lives of gift recipients.

Volunteer at Holiday Gift Drive Benefitting Needy Families!

Spread the cheer, and volunteer at Impact Northwest's Holiday Toy and Gift drive!

 

Volunteers are needed to work in our warehouse at East 102nd & East Burnside on December 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th!

 

Volunteers will help collect, sort and inventory toy & gift donations which will then be distributed to the 60,000+ families we serve.
