Movies and Meaning Group "Made in Dagenham" - January 20

Hello Movie Lovers,

This month we will be meeting to see "Made in Dagenham" starring Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins. The movie is set in 1968 in a car upholstery factory in Britain where women are subjected to difficult working conditions while receiving less pay than men. Rita O'Grady, Hawkins character, finds herself in the unlikely position of leading the women to organize and demand equal pay. It's a familiar story that Americans know well as we continue to live into our ideal that "all men (sic) are created equal."
