Opportunity for new farmers: Mercy Corps NW Lead Grower Program
Our new Lead Grower Program allows new aspiring farmers to take a leadership role at one of our training sites and start a small farm business with lower risk and capital outlay than farming independently. Lead Growers access training from the farm project manager and may be eligible for capital through our loan and matched savings programs.
Accessing land, training, capital and markets are barriers to starting new farm businesses. For six year, Mercy Corps Northwest’s (MCNW) agriculture project has helped immigrants and refugees overcome these barriers and start small farm businesses. We are now expanding to serve new American farmers.
