Free Job Interview Skills Workshop
I represent American Red Cross Toastmasters, a club that meets every Friday at noon, to practice speaking skills and build confidence in front of an audience. It is a supportive and learning environment and free to visitors.
Even though we are located in NE Portland, our membership includes people from the entire metropolitan area. As a courtesy to the entire community, we have scheduled a special no cost meeting for introducing interview skills to those people looking for a job.

If you now (or ever want to) work with volunteers, don't miss this
opportunity! Please do share this with anyone who wants to be better and
wiser at leading volunteers in nonprofit and government settings.
Effective volunteer engagement can have an enormous impact in the world,
helping to create healthy communities, strong and sustainable
organizations, and informed and empowered citizens. But how can one
build an effective volunteer program? What does it take to create --
and facilitate -- meaningful, impact-focused opportunities to serve?
Take your grantwriting to the next level this summer, take "Advanced Grantwriting" at PSU.
You CAN become an even better grantwriter this summer by participating
in our "Advanced Grantwriting" course which is available to a select few
who are ready to take their writing and success to the next level. Grant
and nonprofit professionals will share their experiences -- learn what
they consider to be the skills and knowledge needed to get funded in an
increasingly competitive environment. Note: Students should be familiar
with the basics of grantwriting to take this course. If not, they should
register for Grantwriting for Nonprofit Organizations (Details below).

Seeking Fundraising help, grant writer
We are a small non profit in Salem Oregon focusing on helping the Akha people, some of who live here in Oregon but also the community in SE Asia.
We are trying to take a next step up in fundraising or grant writing and are not yet at the point where we can afford a large fee for having one grant application written up. But we would like to get to that stage where we CAN do that as well.
If you would like to help us build from where we are please contact at akhalife at gmail dot com.
Hospice Patients Need Help During the Day
CAN YOU HELP? We need hospice volunteers who can visit our patients during the weekdays.
Housecall Providers is a nonprofit medical practice that provides primary-care house calls and hospice services to homebound seniors and people with disabilities throughout the Portland metro area. The hospice component offers physical, emotional, and spiritual support to our patients who are near the end of life.
Patient Care Volunteers complete 28 hours of training prior to seeing patients. Our next training starts Saturday, July 9.
Training takes place at the Housecall Providers office on SE Belmont and sessions are as follows:
