Thursday's NPO Mixer

We connect donors that want to give "stuff" like infant needs, household appliances and desks with nonprofits that need them.

As part of our summer of partnerships, we’re hosting a series of nonprofit mixers to re-connect with our nonprofit community. These informal events give you a place to mingle with your peers at a cool location. And, importantly, gives us another venue to listen to your needs when it comes to getting your hands on the stuff that will best help you serve your mission.

Lynn Harden, with The Regence Foundation will join us to share a few things to remember around the grant writing process.

Advocates, volunteers, board members and community members are welcome.

Mentor a Youth in Foster Care: Be Part of the Solution

What's the best way to spend a sunny Saturday in the fall? Head up the Gorge for a short hike? Bike along the waterfront? Shoot some hoops? Find the weirdest corner of Portland you have never explored? You could do all that AND make a difference in the life of a teen in foster care at the same time. Just take him/her along. Ask how his day went. Ask her what's on tap for tomorrow. And this year he might invite you to watch him play ball for his school or help her look at area colleges. Your presence in his or her life might make the difference between good choices or bad.
