Benefit Performance for The Brooklyn Bay
Melanya Sings the Blues - a benefit performance for The Brooklyn Bay.
The Brooklyn Bay is a non-profit arts organization offering performances and workshops that awaken and inspire, that cultivate good humor and cheerfulness, and encourage us to lighten up and sink deeper. Led by artistic director Melanya Helene, it is the birthplace of acclaimed shows 'Tao Soup' and 'Hopeless,' engaging workshops in mindfulness-based attunement, and the home of Play after Play interactive arts for families.
On Sept 16th and 17th we're transforming The Brooklyn Bay into a cozy little jazz club.
Tabor Farmers Market @ Cafe au Play, Saturdays 10am-2pm
Tabor Farmers Market at Cafe au Play is a Year Round Farmers Market in SE Portland at SE 57th & Division Street.
The market runs every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. This unique market surrounds Cafe au Play, a nonprofit coffeehouse that offers an environment where activities, community, and coffee create connections.
This week at the market: The Raffle Basket continues! The more vendors you buy from the more tickets you receive. At 10:30am Mr. Hoo of the The Alphabeticians performs. Fun, upbeat, original, quirky kids music for the whole family!

Museum internship opportunity
The Hellenic-American Cultural Center & Museum offers an internship (non-paid) for any student currently registered at a local college or university. Hours are variable based on availability. Can start anytime.The museum is currently open on Wednesdays, from 11 am to 3 pm.
Possible duties/tasks would include (but not be limited to):
Data entry, helping researcher with family histories for a future project, cataloging books and other materials, helping us market our programs and events and helping to keep our museum open additional hours. OMSI Development Internship
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a Development Intern. This is an unpaid position which may be completed for school credit. It offers the successful candidate the opportunity to learn more about fundraising through corporate and individual giving programs at a major non-profit organization. This position is available immediately, and will remain open until filled.
Internship Summary: The Development Intern provides overall support for the OMSI Development Department.

ROSE Provides School Readiness Program for Outer Southeast Children
SE PORTLAND - ROSE Community Development (ROSE CDC) seeks to support the healthy development of children ages 3-5 to help increase school readiness and performance through the Child Parent Resource Project (CPR), an early-childhood education program.
The CPR project helps enhance school readiness of children living in ROSE housing and in Southeast Portland, so that they can be successful in kindergarten and beyond. CPR does so by empowering parents to be good teachers, as parents' involvement in their children's learning is critical.

Volunteering
Muddy Boot Festival Volunteers Sept. 9-11
The Muddy Boot Festival is looking for volunteers to help with various jobs throughout the weekend, September 9th through 11th. The theme this year is Health and Happiness: Sustaining Vibrant Communities.
This year's event will feature awesome live music, square dancing, hands-on workshops like backyard goat- and chicken-keeping and how to run your car on veggie oil, laughter yoga, kombucha brewing and panel discussions on the environmental impacts of our food choices and on accessing alternative medicine. Volunteering at the festival also offers the chance to connect with local nonprofits and small businesses that are working to promote sustainable practices on our community. Admission to the festival is free for volunteers the day of a shift.
