New Members wanted: Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir

 

New Choir Members wanted!  You are welcome to check out the Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir at their Monday night rehearsals, from 6:30 to 8:30 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. January 23rd begins the new season. Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir members come from diverse spiritual traditions. They celebrate gospel music to bring Joy and Love to the community. Local author Donald Altman uses the latest knowledge on brain science and
his training as a Buddhist monk to guide us in reactivating the natural

Local Nonprofit in need of foldable 6-8ft tables for event

Youth Progress, an independent living skills program for at-risk youth is looking to borrow 6 or 7 long, foldable tables for our fundraising event on Jan. 27th.

If you have tables to loan, we would love to hear from you.  We would ideally like to pick them up a few days before the event, and be able to return them Monday, Janurary 30th.

Pruning and Propagation Workshops at Zenger Farm

We have two great plant workshops coming up! Scholarships are available.

Winter Fruit Tree Pruning

Saturday, January 28th, 1:30pm-4pm

In this hands-on workshop you will learn basic pruning and training skills
and get advice for your own trees. We'll discuss how and when to prune and
proper tools and cuts. Then we'll head outside for demonstration and
practice in our diverse orchard, with over 50 trees of various ages and
varieties. Class is limited to 10 people. Small size means plenty of
individual instruction, hands on practice and time for questions.

Cost: $35-50 sliding scale

William Temple House in NW Portland seeks a Volunteer Food Pantry/Emergency Supply Center Coordinator with a passion for helping others and strong organizational skills.

This position is ideal for a person with inventory management skills and experience working compassionately with individuals and families in need and coordinating the work of a group of volunteers. Familiarity with inventory management is a big plus. The position also may be shared by two volunteers with this blend of skills.
