Health Advocacy Solutions offers independent, interdisciplinary education, research, and support to consumers, families, and communities.
Education
- Educational workshops and how-to seminars to help empower patients and families dealing with our complex health-care system
- Support focusing on specific needs, including insurance/Medicare navigation, making informed treatment decisions, and long-term care planning
- Internet medical literacy training to help citizens become savvy health information consumers
Research
- Timely, independent information-gathering and analysis to help healthcare consumers make informed choices
- Authoritative needs assessments, feasibility studies, surveys, and other research to help improve patient-centered quality of care
- Partnerships to improve the effectiveness of patient-centered interventions to reduce healthcare disparities and improve the quality of care
Support
- Referral services for locating qualified, professional care advocates to address specific issues
- Direct support to patients, families, and communities with specific needs
- Online advocacy resources (coming in Fall of 2009)
