| position summary: | Core responsibilities: Fundraising • Assist in fundraising activities that include mail and electronic appeals and special events to raise the Center's annual fund • Manage database and other systems, including: processing donations, grants and other revenues, maintaining donor files, and generating fundraising reports Communication • Coordinate communication activities that include electronic and print newsletters, social networks, blog, publicity materials, and webinars • Manage communication files including photo management and news clippings • Assist with website updates Administrative • Provide overall office support including incoming mail, office supplies, bill payment, and equipment maintenance and administrative support to other staff, including event coordination and material generation • Support internal communication needs that include note-taking and documentation |
| Salary / Pay Rate: | 30-34,000 |
| Required Skills and Abilities: | Skills and Experience • 1+ years experience in grassroots fundraising and office administration • Commitment to Western States Center’s mission and values • Ability to problem-solve, work in a fast paced environment and on multiple projects simultaneously, and be a team player • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and email • Familiar with or desire to learn databases, layout and design software, social networks tools, content management systems • Basic experience in graphic design and layout • Attention to detail and very well organized • Good writing and editing skills This new staff person will be a member of the Development and Communication Team and will report to the Development Director. Salary and Benefits Annual salary of $30,000 - $34,000 depending on experience. Excellent benefits, including health and dental, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, vacation, and sabbatical.
