Building Sustainable Neighborhoods: Theory and Application Tuesday February 16th, 7:00 pm @ the Flying Cat Coffeehouse, 3041 SE Division coffee, tea, libations, and snacks available
Zeratha Young of Transition PDX will give a presentation on the Transition Towns Initiative, a worldwide movement that facilitates local community transition from oil dependency to local resilience. Transition PDX seeks to assist the both the city of Portland and its neighborhoods in this endeavor.
Community members from the Ainsworth Street Collective of NE Portland will share their experience in building a unique community of 50 some households founded on the vision of creating a community that educates about sustainability by practicing sustainable living, creating a neighborhood economy and a wealth of group social activities.
