Job Posting: Upward Bound Tutors

The IRCO Upward Bound Program is seeking tutors to provide after school academic support for students at David Douglas High School.  Upward Bound is a college preparation program for low-income and first generation students. Tutors will assist Upward Bound participants in completing homework, understanding course content, and reaching their academic goals. 

Qualifications:
·        Strong skills and ability to tutor in math including Algebra I and II and Geometry. Also willing and able to tutor in other subjects as needed including English, Biology, General Science, and Social Studies.

·        Experience tutoring, teaching, and/or mentoring youth.

·        Enthusiasm for working with high school students from diverse cultural, academic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 Tutoring takes place Monday - Thursday from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. DDHS is located at 1001 SE 135th Avenue in Portland. Compensation starts at $10 an hour.
