SAVE THE FOLLOWING DATES for COUNTY BUDGET FORUMS!

Multnomah County Chair Ted Wheeler and the Citizen Involvement Committee are holding two budget forums which present excellent opportunities for citizens to discuss their concerns about budget priorities for FY 2010-11 with Chair Wheeler and the County Commissioners. This is particularly critical at a time when county programs and services are again facing budget cuts. The forums promote informal, small group discussions with county leaders and give leaders insight into the community’s priorities and concerns prior to the County Chair issuing his Executive Budget for 2010-11 and subsequent budget deliberations.

The forums will take place in the Multnomah Building Boardroom on:

• March 4, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Topic Area: CREATING A SAFE COMMUNITY (Focused on county services provided by the Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney, Dept. of Community Justice, and Corrections Health)

• March 18, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Topic Area: CREATING A HEALTHY COMMUNITY (Focused on county services provided by the Health Dept., Dept. of County Human Services, Dept. of Community Services, Library Dept., Dept. of County Management, Office of Information Technology, and Commission on Children, Families and Communities)

*The Multnomah Building is located at 501 SE Hawthorne Boulevard in Portland.
