Goals:

To support and further the Lost Valley mission by bringing in gross revenues from mission-related business income.

To expand and improve upon the client base for Lost Valley as a conference and retreat center by assisting in the expansion of Camassia Institute program development and strengthening ties with other organizations working in the sustainable education and living field.

To lead the sales and operations arm of Lost Valley by overseeing and coordinating the departments within the Conference Center's purview.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Along with the Facilities Director and the Executive Director, leads the organization by making executive decisions and leading the management team
2. Oversees the Conference Center operations, which includes the Lost Valley Kitchen, Camassia Institute for Sustainable Communities, and the Events Department, ensuring smooth communication between the three departments. Supervises the Kitchen Manager and Camassia Institute Director
3. Holds the big picture for the Lost Valley Events Department, directs towards that vision
4. Manages the Events Department budget
5. Leads the Events Team
6. Recruits new events, increasing our client base in the sustainability and right livelihood market
7. Promotes the operations of the Conference Center by performing marketing and outreach appropriate to the budget and area

Salary / Pay Rate:$1200/month plus potential bonuses up to $3000 yearly. Possible stipend for contract teaching work.
Required Skills and Abilities:Requirements for this position include prior experience coordinating events, marketing skills, and an entrepreneurial focus.
Qualifications:Qualified candidates must have a keen business sense and be able to inspire respect and enthusiasm among Events staff and other co-workers. Strong marketing skills with experience targeting the appropriate audience and producing effective marketing materials a plus. Minimum one year of business management experience strongly preferred. Qualified candidates will also have outstanding customer service skills, the ability to supervise a small staff, make executive decisions, and coordinate many responsibilities at once. Required computer skills include word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet proficiency. Website design and marketing experience a plus. Experience with programs Adobe InDesign and CiviCRM a plus. Prior experience working in Permaculture and Educational Programs preferred, preference given to applicants with a Permaculture Design Certificate.
