Community Reporter Internship at The Children's Book Bank

The Children’s Book Bank, a young and rapidly growing non-profit, seeks a part-time intern to act as a community liaison and reporter during the next several months. We’ve had a successful start collecting children’s books from the community, mending and sorting them with the help of volunteers, and then distributing books to children of low-income families. As part of our expansion, we seek an intern who can reach out to the community in new ways, by contacting book donors, book drive hosts, volunteers and most importantly, the children and families we serve. Through interviews and research, the liaison/reporter will compile stories about the non-profit, its partnerships and the communities it serves for our website, future newsletters, outreach programs and grant proposals. About 5-10 hours of work per week, most of which can be conducted off-site, though a weekly check-in at our workspace would likely be necessary (and transportation is not provided). If interested, this intern could also become involved in The Children’s Book Bank’s other activities, including fundraising, event planning and community outreach.
