"CommuniCARE” is a program that is designed to introduce young people to the importance of community service and the role of nonprofit organizations in the state of Oregon and in their local communities. Through a collaborative effort between the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation and a group of girls at Girls Inc., a “mini-foundation” is created representing Girls Inc. girls. The program, which operates throughout the school year, is student directed and supervised by a staff member, professional female mentors, and help from Foundation staff. Through the grant-making process and hands-on volunteer service, students not only make needed contributions to nonprofit organizations, but also experience the reward of helping others. These students also have a broader understanding of their community and the variety of people with which they share it. "CommuniCARE" inspires girls to be young philanthropists in their own communities!

Ticket Cost: $10

Ticketing Information: Pay at the Door

Donations for the event generously provided by New Seasons Market, Grand Central Bakery and Elephants Deli.
