Accounting Assistant

The Business Education Compact seeks an experienced individual to support accounting functions for this 501 c3 non-profit organization located in Beaverton, Oregon (www.becpdx.org). The Accounting Assistant will perform accounting activities in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, organization policies and guidelines, and accepted accounting standards.

Essential Responsibilities

-- Assist with monthly bank reconciliation

-- Prepare payroll journal entries

-- Enter timecard data into Paychex system

-- Prepare and process A/R and A/P as directed

-- Assist in grant management tasks

-- Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Required Qualifications -- Minimum 2 years relevant and practical accounting experience

-- Broad knowledge of all accounting functions (A/P, A/R, general ledgers, etc)

-- Proficient in PC/Microsoft-based technology systems and software

-- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft GP Dynamics (or MAS 90) software programs

-- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

-- Strong work ethic; reliable and dependable

-- Strong oral and written communication skills

-- Must work well with others; possess a collaborative style

Other Qualifications—Desirable; Not Required

-- Knowledge of HR practices

-- Experience with Paychex, MAS 90, FRX, Crystal Report Writer

-- Prior accounting experience in non-profit organization
