Description
Founded in 2009, the Perros Project is non-profit organization seeking to improve the lives of the street dogs of Huanchaco, Peru and based in Portland Oregon.
In June of 2010 a team of volunteers and vets will go to Huanchaco, Peru to aid the street dogs of this picturesque beach town. In the first phase of the project, the team will:
1) partner with area veterinarians to offer a 1-week spay and neuter clinic and
2) work with the local, volunteer-run animal shelter to improve the facilities and assist with the daily animal care-taking.
Our goal is to create an ongoing & biennial clinic to further develop a relationship with the town of Huanchaco and in the long-term change the thinking and the culture around the local animal population.
