| position summary: | Responsible for efficiently and accurately processing contributions and producing appropriate donor acknowledgements; creating new records and updating existing records; and maintenance to ensure an accurate database. Must be a skilled user of databases (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge preferred) and MS Office. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Input all donations into the database (such as contributions, special events, membership, etc.). 2. Produce all written correspondence (acknowledgement letters/notes, tax receipts) on behalf of programs and the organization. 3. Process new data or changes to existing data in the database (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge). 4. Maintain the integrity of the database at all times. 5. Record development activity in the database. 6. Create, run and provide reports from the database. 7. Perform data imports and exports. 8. Perform sophisticated queries for appeals and mailings. 9. Develop, maintain, and produce reporting and analysis documents for fundraising events and activities. 10. Interface with finance department to ensure consistent revenue reporting. 11. Train/inform staff of changes in BRE application, modules and/or procedures. 12. Create, document, and enforce data entry guidelines to ensure data quality and consistency. 13. Working with IT, coordinate Raiser's Edge patches, upgrades and necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the overall health of the database. 14. Monitor industry news to make relevant recommendations for additional functionality. 15. Other duties as assigned. |
| Salary / Pay Rate: | $13.79 to $18.62 per hour |
| Required Skills and Abilities: | COMPETENCY SKILLS: 1. Demonstrated ability to work with sensitivity and tact, and be sensitive to dynamics of difference in race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, national origin and other types of cultural difference. 2. Understanding of, and experience with, database records, acknowledgments, queries, exports, reports, mail, coding, global changes, importing and administrator tasks (Raiser's Edge preferred, but experience with any database is helpful). 3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 5. Ability to transform end-user needs into technical and functional requirements. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 7. Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple timelines simultaneously 8. Ability to write correspondence, reports and other documents using proper grammar, accurate spelling and punctuation. 9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate several projects at once. 10. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 11. Willingness to take initiative and be proactive in anticipating and addressing challenges. 12. Working knowledge of public relations, marketing and development practices. 13. Ability to work respectfully with diverse individuals and groups. 14. Ability to work both independently and in a team setting. 15. Professional, positive demeanor and a sense of humor. REASONING ABILITY 1. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions. 2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions. 3. | Qualifications: | EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 1. Two years experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge (BRE) database in a nonprofit environment preferred. 2. Bachelor’s degree and specific BRE training preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS 1. Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance. |
