Oregon Mentors works to expand positive life opportunities for all young Oregonians by connecting them with caring mentors.
Description
Oregon Mentors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting more young people with caring adult mentors. Oregon Mentors has an eight year history of supporting more than 100 mentoring programs throughout the state of Oregon. The smartest way for us to connect more children to good mentors is to support effective mentoring programs. We provide the following activities that strengthen quality programs: 1. Volunteer recruiting & referral 2. Professional development 3. Identifying resources such as trainings, curriculum, and partnerships .
Oregon Mentors has offices in Portland and Medford. With six full time professionals, a 32 member board of directors, and a council comprised of mentoring program managers, Oregon Mentors has the necessary structure to locate and disseminate needed resources to the programs and volunteers who need them. Our organizational goal is to increase the number of youth being served from 20,000 to 40,000 by 2010.
