Tagline
Providing a voice for youth!
Description
The Multnomah Youth Commission is a group of 42 young people between the ages of 13-21 who live, work, or go to school in the City of Portland and/or Multnomah County. The official youth advisors to Portland City Council and the Multnomah County Board, youth commissioners play a vital role in helping shape policy and programs which impact the lives of youth. Currently the MYC is working on supporting School Based Health Centers, reducing the drop out rate, creating YouthPASS (free bus passes for high school students currently available to Jefferson, Franklin & Roosevelt HS students and looking to expand), and YouthVOTE! (working to inform and engage youth in elections and other important civic dialouges in the community). Youth Commission meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from 4:30-7:30pm rotating between Portland City Hall and the Gresham Schools Building.
