position summary:

The Development Manager is responsible for the effective design and execution of development strategies, including individual, corporate and planned giving. Additionally, the position will be responsible for the planning and implementation of at least two signature events per year. The primary emphasis of the position is on meeting annual budget needs and on expanding the base of support to anticipate the long-term growth of Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon. Since 2010, the number of clients served and revenue raised have both increased by ~60% and we anticipate a continuation of that trend.

The successful candidate will be an organized, high-functioning professional with polish; yet ready to do battle with a glue gun at a moment’s notice. It is expected that the candidate will seamlessly step into fulfillment of current fundraising activities while simultaneously creating and implementing the plan and structure necessary to fund PRO’s next level of growth and service to the Parkinson’s community.

As the only staff member dedicated to development activities, the candidate will be a self-motivated, creative, energetic team player able to energize and inspire others.

Required Skills and Abilities:Primary Responsibilities * With Executive Director, Board, and Volunteer Committees create and implement annual development plans to meet current income and long-term growth requirements * Creation of and adherence to budget for fundraising activities * Plan and execute the agency’s two major annual fundraising events (Gala & Walks), meeting both income and public awareness goal * Encourage and support 3rd party fundraiser efforts * Direct & manage annual fund and individual giving activities * Develop and implement major donor program * Cultivate, solicit and steward donors and community partners * Oversee gift processing, acknowledgement and donor record keeping systems Additionally, the Development Director is responsible for: * Enthusiastically engaging staff, volunteers and board in development strategies providing training, leadership and support as necessary * Annual reports and monthly progress reporting * Creation and production of print and media collateral, including event websites, social media and other online fundraising tools
