position summary:

Business for Culture and Arts, Portland’s highly visible business membership organization, seeks a passionate new Executive Director. Now in its 25th year, BCA’s mission is to build connections between the arts and business communities to help strengthen Oregon’s culture and economy.

With a 3.2 person staff and highly engaged Board and membership, BCA’s newly articulated strategic vision is to catalyze a sustainable movement of business that makes arts and culture central to Portland’s development agenda.

The Executive Director is responsible to set the strategic agenda, guide BCA’s many partnerships, activate the Board and membership. The Executive Director leads professional operations of BCA: program implementation, strategic and annual planning/budgeting, membership development, marketing/branding, grantwriting, other resource development and financial management.

A qualified candidate is an impassioned, active arts advocate - a systemic thinker with strong planning/organization development skills. He/She has at least five years of management/leadership experience in a mid-large business or non-profit organization. With demonstrated management and fundraising experience, and exceptional strategic communication skills, the candidate knows how to apply evolving new technologies and outstanding organizational and motivational tools, with a leadership style marked by vigor, vision, enthusiasm, innovation, and confidence. The successful candidate has collaborated effectively with leaders from business, arts, government and education.

Salary $68,000/year with full dental and medical coverage, employer-match retirement benefits and a cafeteria plan.
