Fight poverty in Oregon as a member of the Oregon Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA team!

Oregon Campus Compact (ORCC) VISTA members are placed at higher education institutions throughout the state and build the capacity of these institutions to serve the community. ORCC VISTA members coordinate programs that build awareness of poverty issues, create civic engagement opportunities for students, faculty, and staff, and build community partnerships that address local poverty.

ORCC VISTA positions are available at the following institutions:
Chemeketa Community College
Linfield College
Marylhurst University
Pacific University
Portland Community College
Southern Oregon University
University of Oregon
University of Portland

Member Benefits and Support:
ORCC VISTA members receive a taxed living allowance of $10,692 (Multnomah and Washington Counties) / $10,296 (all other Oregon Counties), dispersed bi-weekly (approx. $411 / $396 every two weeks); health coverage; optional life insurance benefits; loan forbearance on qualified student loans; relocation allowance (if moving more than 50 miles to serve); and training and professional development opportunities. Upon successful completion of the service term, members are eligible to receive either a $5,550 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a $1,500 end-of-year stipend.

Eligibility:
AmeriCorps*VISTA members must be able to commit to serve on a full-time basis for a full year (365 days). All applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of placement and applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Legal Resident. AmeriCorps VISTA requires that all applicants be able to pass a criminal background check. In addition, ORCC VISTA members must have the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree to qualify for program candidacy.
