Volunteering

Will You Be My Volunteer?

The 2009 Oregon Academic Decathlon state competition will be held at the end of February at Western Oregon University in Monmouth and volunteers are needed.

Volunteers will judge the speech or interview events on Friday, February 27th in the university's Education Building. The time commitment is from 3:00 to 5:30 PM.

No prior experience or expertise is required as training (and snacks!) will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to help Oregon's high school students participate in a prestigious, nationwide academic program. The winner of the competition will represent Oregon at the USAD National Finals in Memphis, TN in April.

Please come help students realize their potentials and make Oregon proud.

Volunteers: Do you love looking through things, sorting, and organizing?

If you answered yes, the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division’s conference room desperately needs your attention.  Being an 85 year old organization there are many things on our shelves that need to be sorted through and organized.  With the help of our finance director, we’re guessing this could be a full day project or spread out over 3 days.  Perfecting timing for us would be March 2, 3, and/or 4 anytime between 8am and 4pm.

Please email [email protected] if you’re interested.

We look forward to hearing from you.
