position summary:

Treatment services with a community focus. Successful applicants will be dedicated to Recovery and interested in the challenges of successfully engaging clients with multi-diagnoses in Substance Abuse and Mental Health treatment. Multi-disciplinary team approach, including mentoring, acupuncture, mental health services, health/wellness and referral to vocational/employment/housing services.

Relationship building, introduce clients to appropriate recovery support and activities; utilizing proven intervention techniques with individual clients (and families when appropriate); escort clients to appointments; weekly on-site at Multnomah County HIV Clinic; clinical documentation of client encounters, data collection; referrals/case management, group co- facilitation and 1:1 interaction with clients.

Salary / Pay Rate:Dependent upon Experience
Required Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of services and programs for PLWH/A (people living with HIV/AIDS); Knowledge and skills in chemical dependency, Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change; maintain professional boundaries; crisis intervention/de-escalation, sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks. Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients of diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations, treating each individual with respect and dignity.
Qualifications:Persons recovering from chemical dependency must have 3+ years of continuous sobriety at date of employment and be engaged in a program of Recovery.
