The policy research intern will assist OEC’s Clean & Healthy Rivers program director with researching potential public policy changes and/or programs to protect Oregon’s rivers. Projects may include investigating the toxicity and prevalence of certain emerging contaminants that have been identified as harmful to human health and/or aquatic life and their potential reduction measures; researching potential fees or other funding sources for pollution prevention programs; and/or researching agricultural water conservation practices suitable for Oregon. The intern will have some flexibility in choosing projects.

Desirable skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; Education and experience in environmental science and/or public policy.
