Surveying and Mapping Volunteer

POSITION SUMMARY: The Evaluation and Visitor Studies Division seeks volunteers to assist with data collection, specifically entrance and exit surveys and mapping. This will take place on the main floor of OMSI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Collecting data which may involve conducting interviews, observations, or tracking in the museum. • Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner. • Must be dependable and punctual. • Willing to commit to a schedule of one three-hour shift per week on either Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS FOR SURVEYING: • Excellent interpersonal communication • Ability to approach people • Strong listening and organizational skills • Ability to record data legibly with great attention to detail KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS FOR MAPPING: • Excellent observational skills • Ability to move quickly throughout entire museum • Ability to record data legibly with great attention to detail • Strong organizational skills
