Think & Drink with John Frohnmayer: A happy hour conversation series sponsored by the Oregon Council for the Humanities. Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. rontoms, 600 E. Burnside, Portland. Free and open to the public.

John Frohnmayer, former chair of the National Endowment for the Arts and independent Senate candidate in 2008, will lead a discussion on corporate citizenship and how it jeopardizes democracy at the next Think & Drink, a happy hour conversation series that this season looks at consumer culture.

Think & Drink invites the public to think and talk together and reflects OCH’s emphasis on infusing important public conversations with critical thinking and fresh ideas. The first conversation was held in December 2008 and featured former Wieden+Kennedy creative director Jelly Helm, who talked about advertising and consumer culture. The third conversation on April 22 will include a panel representing alternative economies currently developing in Portland.
