JANUS YOUTH PROGRAMS, INC. has the following positions available. Janus is a nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless and street-dependent  youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW Washington. We are an agency that values diversity and values the contributions made by our staff in helping the youth we serve.  All positions involve working together with strong, supportive teams to support and make a difference in a young person’s life.

Farm Coordinator needed 30 hours per week with our Village Gardens (Urban Agricultural Program) to work with 10 to 20 youth each year to plan and harvest a one-ace Certified Organic vegetable farm on Sauvie Island.  Responsibilities include maintaining the farm and surrounding area, managing a heated greenhouse, designing and building new farm infrastructure, operating farm machinery, training, and documentation.  The position also works with the youth to help them expand their entrepreneurial activities.  Position requires knowledge and experience with farm management, teaching others in an interactive, project-based environment; working within a multi-cultural, disenfranchised community, and working with and leading adolescents.  Knowledge of and experience with National Organic Program and customer service or business management are preferred.  Position does require personal transportation allowing for transport of clients, supplies and equipment, a valid driver’s license for state of residency, personal auto liability insurance ($100,000/$300,000 levels) strongly recommended, and a driving record meeting agency’s driving eligibility requirements.  Beginning pay is $11.50-$13.00 per hour; excellent benefits. Skills Trainers needed at Imani House, a residential facility providing treatment and supervision to male adolescents referred by Oregon’s Department of Human Services.  Two positions are available; one is a Friday – Sunday (days) and the other is Wednesday through Sunday (swing shift). The position is responsible for providing client supervision, assisting in evaluations, and maintaining a structured living environment. A Bachelor’s Degree in a social services or related field OR two years related experience is preferred. Position does involve driving. Beginning pay is $9.75/hour plus excellent benefits. Residential Counselors needed ¾-time at Garfield House, a 10-bed crisis shelter for runaway and displaced youth. One position is overnight (3 overnight shifts & one afternoon staff meeting each week) the other is a combination of morning and evening shifts, including weekends. These positions provide direct service and supervision to clients and their families and provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with at-risk youth in an established agency. Spanish speaking is a plus. Day/evening position does involve driving. Beginning pay is $9.45/hour; excellent benefits.
