2002 CNRG Member Survey

In the fall of 2002, we asked CNRG members to answer a survey about their use of the discussion list, their work, professional development needs and other info. The steering committee will be using this information to plan the future of CNRG. Thanks to all who replied. Here are the results!

15. We tried to craft these questions in a way that would tell us what you like about CNRG and what you would like to see for the future of CNRG. If you have any additional thoughts that better respond to those questions, please use this space.

(These are some selected responses.)

As someone who has used CNRG for specific reasons I think that it could be beneficial to divide the CNRG group into categories that seem popular: Community Events, Volunteer Opportunities, Employment Opportunities, Professional Development & Training, Miscellaneous, Correspondence, etc.

I appreciate the access to other like-minded individuals who work in the non-profit area and are concerned about social issues. The network is a great way to spread the word about agency events and activities and to learn about other agencies and resources.

I would like to see a summary of responses posted to the list.

I think CNRG provides a valuable forum for networking sharing resources & keeping people informed about the local community. Thank you for making this happen.

I think a calendar would be a great idea to help bring all of the community events into one source. Another need in the nonprofit community is a listing of organizations in the area and their CONTACT information. I know that some agencies have tried but maybe if it was web based it would relieve all the complications with outdated information in other listings??

CNRG is a great resource. I refer new people to it probably at least a dozen times a year.

A job listing board where you could look for jobs under a certain title or an easier way to track old job announcements.

I would suggest a job posting board for those seeking employment. I would still like organizations to post their stuff to the listserve but I would separate out those people posting their personal resume looking for work.

I don't use CNRG that often anymore because it became too overwhelming in volume but it has been very helpful when needed.
