position summary:

Full Time, 40 hours/week, non-exempt status. The Information and Assistance Specialist is responsible for providing Information and Assistance to older residents in West Multnomah County in accordance with Multnomah County Aging Services Division Standards. Minimum required qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred in social services, gerontology, counseling or related field. 1 to 2 years relevant experience, preferably working with the elderly. Ability to communicate with clients, families, service providers, community members and co-workers, both orally and in writing. Basic skill in web-based resource search and data entry required. Must have knowledge of resources available to seniors in Multnomah County. Culturally responsive. Self initiative and ability to work as a team player. Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record, 5 years driving history, be able to drive agency vehicles and be insurable by agency.
