position summary: | Oregon Microenterprise Network (OMEN) ORGANIZATION MISSION STATEMENT OMEN's mission is to increase opportunities for economically and geographically disadvantaged entrepreneurs by building the capacity and quality of Oregon microenterprise service providers. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Membership Services Management 2) OMEN Strategy Implementation 5) Accounting Support and Office Technology Management PREFERRED EXPERIENCE CRITICAL SKILLS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of executive and administrative support related tasks and will be able to work independently. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of supporting a fast paced nonprofit Executive Director as part of a well-functioning team. The ability to interact with clients (members) throughout Oregon while managing own projects, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important in this position. Finally, a passion for the mission of the organization is a requirement of this position. Required Skills and Abilities: | PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 1. Minimum of four years experience in administrative coordination role 2. Ability to self-manage and problem-solve 3. Ability to set appropriate priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects 4. Excellent written and oral communication skills 5. Excellent computer skills and experience with Office, website management, database management 6. QuickBooks experience (at least 1 year) and knowledge of basic accounting practices 7. Dedication to issues concerning women and people of color, self-employment, economic development concepts and practices 8. Experience working in a membership-based, advocacy, or mission-driven organization a plus 9. Successful candidates will be extremely detail-oriented and achieve excellence in all work products CRITICAL SKILLS 1. Ability to think strategically and creatively 2. Strong motivational, facilitation and coalition-building skills 3. Articulate and organized in written and oral communication; Confident, self-driven, and professional in demeanor 4. Willingness to learn, adapt and stay abreast of new ideas and trends 5. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work hard independently, responsibly and ethically 6. Successful candidates will be energetic but possess ability to focus, track, and follow through on multiple projects simultaneously 7. Responsive and attuned to delivering strong customer service. Self-aware, possessing integrity, a sense of humor, and personal warmth a plus |
Qualifications: | PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelor’s Degree -High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint -Flexible and willing to work occasionally on weekends and evenings throughout year -Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a criminal background check Ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of executive and administrative support related tasks and will be able to work independently.
