Concierge/Coat Check Representative

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is seeking multiple part-time Concierge/Coat Check Representatives who will provide a hospitality presence at the Concierge/Coat Check Desk. These positions will serve as a customer service resource for guests during their OMSI visit as well as enhance the visitor experience by promoting and providing information on museum and area services, events and attractions. Additional responsibilities of the position include coat check, lost and found, and to a lesser degree ticket-selling, membership sales, and facilitating group visits.

The ideal candidate will be pleasant, positive, outgoing demeanor with the ability to make all OMSI visitors feel welcome, a team player with strong communication and cooperation skills, strong knowledge of local community, area and region, accurate cash-handling and record-keeping skills, ability to follow basic instructions, good customer service skills, including problem solving skills, basic communication skills, both written and oral, specifically working with the public, and understanding of confidentiality and protocol.

Candidate will also have a minimum 1 year customer service experience in a fast-paced, high public contact retail and/or service environment, working knowledge with computers and/or ticketing systems, knowledge of computerized cash register and/or ticketing systems, and must pass pre-employment and/or pre-duty checks, such as criminal background check and reference checks. High School diploma or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience, Bilingual - Spanish/English, and experience working with volunteers is preferred.

Pay Range: $8.51 - $10.00 per hour.
