Development/Volunteer Coordinator

 The goal of this volunteer position is to engage new constituents with Playworks, tapping their interest in improving the academic success of students at low-income public schools. This position is designed to support the Playworks Portland volunteer and development program by assisting with the recruitment of individual donors and volunteers along with general help with development activities as needed. 

Duties: - Assist with the local volunteer program and volunteer recognition events - Assist with social networking activities, e-newsletters, fundraising events and online fundraising strategies aimed at individual donors in our region - Assist with general development duties such as data management and research 

Details: - Passionate commitment to Playworks mission and long-term vision on behalf of children and the importance of play - Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, experience with Salesforce a plus - The desire to learn about the nonprofit community and best practices in a “hands on” environment - Ability to multi-task

About you: Detail oriented with strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. Flexibility, critical thinking and a sense of humor are a must. Day/Hour: Typically M-F between the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm Commitment: We ask for 10-20 hours per week for 6 months.
