DocTalk with Director Peter Richardson

DocTalk is a monthly series of presentations by documentarians that is free and open to the public presented by NW Documentary. The series aims to bring storytellers together to share lessons learned, get feedback and build a network of support.

This month, we speak with director Peter Richardson of the acclaimed How to Die in Oregon. Peter's thoughtful and compelling documentary work has gained widespread recognition, including the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance for his documentary.  He also won the Center for Documentary Studies' Film Maker Award, and received a 2012 Emmy Nomination for Best Documentary. The Chicago Sun-Times noted the film "will likely be viewed as one of the most historically significant documentaries of this decade.”

Peter recently finished directing two episodes of a landmark, Planet Earth-style documentary television series for Oprah Winfrey, entitled Belief, that explores faith and belief around the world which airs in 2015.
