position summary:

The Events Manager works closely with the Development Director and other development staff to establish annual fundraising goals, and is responsible for the creation, organization and execution of successful fundraising events in support of RMHC’s mission. Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop, coordinate and manage the signature events, including the golf tournament and auction, and develop complementary third signature event.
2. Develop, coordinate and increase revenue from third-party fundraising events.
3. Assist in the development of, and act as key liaison with, a new young professionals group.

Required Skills and Abilities:Skills Required: • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to think strategically and creatively. • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain strict deadlines. • Ability to work under limited supervision, both independently and as a team member. • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge is preferred. • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:Experience Required: • 3-5 years experience in non-profit fundraising, including special event management and corporate solicitation. • Experience working with volunteer boards and committees to achieve objectives.
Education Required:College degree
