Gift Entry and Donor Records Specialist

Friends of the Children - Portland, a nationally recognized, dynamic non-profit mentoring organization serving high-risk children in our community, is currently recruiting for a Gift Entry and Donor Records Specialist to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organization that gives children an opportunity to realize their unique potential. Do you have the following skills and experience?

• Enter and update gift and donor records in The Raiser’s Edge (RE) in order to efficiently provide accurate contribution revenue reporting and donor acknowledgment correspondence. Input daily contribution details into RE in accordance with Gift Batch Entry processes. Produce donor acknowledgement letters for signature. Scan and file signed letters in organized, retrievable manner.
• Identify database integrity/accuracy opportunities and provide research-based solutions and ongoing database maintenance in general and for individual donors. Research donor updates (i.e., relationships, addresses), update donor records as necessary and provide documentation of changes. Assist with development of routine database maintenance procedures and schedule.
• Provide database queries, lists and reporting in support of marketing campaigns, seasonal appeals and fundraising events.
• Generate pledge letters and/or invoices on monthly basis or as requested.
• Manage matching gift applications and tracking.
• Assist with procurement and attendance tracking for annual fund raising event.
• Assist with receptionist phone coverage and/or donor acknowledgement calls as requested.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Extensive experience with The Raiser’s Edge in a database environment that is integrated with general ledger software (i.e. The Financial Edge) is required. Experience with AuctionPay Event Software and/or Crystal Reports is preferred.
• Extreme attention to detail, ability to implement self-checking procedures for data entry, produce accurate correspondence and reports and edit written materials accurately and consistently
• Ability to routinely manage and prioritize daily work and meet multiple deadlines, especially during high-volume times of the year.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self starter with high level of initiative and willingness to learn.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
