NTEN seeks a technology-adept individual with a love for details and people to assist in the execution of NTEN’s membership efforts. This position offers the right individual the opportunity to understand many aspects of running membership programs, as well as the opportunity to meet and gain exposure to hundreds of nonprofits around the globe. The Membership Coordinator is charged with successfully managing membership inquiries, executing membership communications, and supporting NTEN’s membership partners and sponsors. This work includes communicating with community members and supporters, coordinating event and contract logistics, managing communications, data entry, and managing related systems.

This is an hourly and benefited position, based in Portland, OR.

Qualifications:Program Activities: - Provide front-line customer service response for all membership activities - Assist in development of membership community through online channels - Execute Member Communications, including email and direct mail, and analyze results - Manage Membership Partners with on-boarding, member registration, and programming - Support Sponsor fulfillment through communications and systems management - Manage day-to-day membership administration Ongoing Activities: - Create ongoing work plans with goals and metrics for projects, monitor and report on progress against goals - Actively participate in staff calls and team meetings - Work with staff on communicating member needs and services to NTEN’s website, newsletter, and other communication vehicles - Respond to requests for information from members and other constituents - Provide general telephone support to community participants as needed Qualifications: - Customer service - Detail-oriented - Action Orientation - Analytical skills - Strong written and oral skills - Database experience a plus - Associate or Bachelor Degree A professional appearance, excellent phone manners, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally in a fast-paced business environment with the public are a must.
