position summary:

The Operations Assistant is responsible for support of SA programs, including enrollment, phone answering, data entry, software management, scheduling classrooms, purchasing, kit management, instructor support, and event logistics.

This position works closely with the Enrollment Coordinator and is supervised by the Director of Operations. On weekends, the Operations Assistant acts for the Enrollment Coordinator in providing service to parents, students, and instructors. Close coordination between this position and the Enrollment Coordinator is required.

Salary / Pay Rate:Friday–Tuesday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM, full time exempt; $24,000-27,000 annually; includes full health and dental benefits

Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • College education, BA/BS or comparable degree • Enjoy helping people and have a commitment to education • Excellent administrative computer skills including data entry proficiency and word processing and spreadsheet experience • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and researching computer hardware and software • Ability to multitask and superior organizational skills • Commitment to provide excellence in customer service to both internal and external contacts • Experience interacting with diverse groups of people • High level of oral and written communication skills • Flexibility and an excellent sense of humor • Demonstrated interest in nonprofit missions and a commitment to Saturday Academy • Access to a reliable vehicle for material delivery • Must be able to lift and move boxes of books and supplies (up to 50 pounds each) and use handcarts to transport supplies in and out of vehicles, storage areas, or classrooms. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with Access and other databases • Background in science, technology, engineering, or math • Excellent knowledge of the Portland metropolitan area
