Plant trees this Saturday with Friends of Trees!

Join Friends of Trees this Saturday morning at one of our three public planting events to help us plant almost 3,300 trees!  This is our last weekend of planting until 2012, so please join us to make it a successful one...the more, the merrier!

1)  We'll be planting 3,000 (!!) native plants and shrubs at the Mitchell Creek natural area in SE Portland in conjunction with EMSWCD, Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Portland Parks and Recreation.  The planting will be staged from 15912 SE Clatsop Street.

2)  We'll be planting 250 (!) large street and yard trees in the Brentwood, Darlington, Mt.Scott-Arleta and Woodstock neighborhoods in SE Portland. That planting will be staged at the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at 5329 SE Woodstock Blvd.

3)  We'll be planting about 40 trees in Beaverton near Fir Grove Park at the intersection of SW 22nd St. and SW 130th Ave.

For all of these plantings, we ask our volunteers to arrive around 8:45am to ensure enough time to sign-in and enjoy some free coffee and doughnuts.  Friends of Trees will also provide gloves, tools and all necessary guidance. All you need to do is show up and be dressed for the weather!

If you have any additional questions, please contact Andy Meeks or Jenny Bedell-Stiles at 503-595-0213.  We hope you can join us!
