Janus Youth Programs has the following positions available. Janus is a
nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential
and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless
and street-dependent youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW
Washington. Services also include alternative education (Lents Education
Center) and an Urban Agricultural program. We are an agency that values

Residential Advocate needed needed for overnight position (Thursday -
Sundays) to oversee operation of transitional living facility during
scheduled shifts. Duties will involve client supervision, interpreting
program agreements and holding clients accountable to those agreements,
crisis management, and assuring a safe environment for staff and clients.
Prior experience working with high-risk adolescents, especially knowledge of
issues impacting homeless/street dependent youth, is preferred. Individual
selected for hire will also be expected to attend weekly staff/house
meetings on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Beginning pay is $10.50 per

Residential Counselors needed to work at our Athena House, a program
providing residential services and care to youth identified as commercially
sexually exploited children between the ages of 14 and 17. The position
will provide youth care, planning, supervision of daily routines, individual
and group counseling, crisis intervention, and close supervision of clients.
The Residential Counselors will work closely with community service
providers to provide wrap-around services to youth. Position requires
experience in a mental health/case management setting working with
adolescents and previous experience demonstrating knowledge of issues
impacting youth who have been sexually exploited. Prior experience working
with adolescents in a residential treatment setting and advanced education,
training, and experience are preferred. These positions do involve driving
an agency van and/or personal vehicle to transport clients. Beginning
salary is $11.00/hour. Two positions are available; one is a 32-38 hour per
week position with excellent benefits; the other is approximately 24-hours

Assistant Manager needed at Village Market, a community-designed and
operated healthy corner grocery store in North Portland. This position is
responsible for store operations on a given shift and reports to the Project
Manager. The position assists in day-to-day operations and assists in
providing guidance, role-modeling and leadership to store clerks. The
position also monitors inventory, develops promotions and displays, and
orders and receives products. The position functions as part of the
leadership team and assists the project manager, as needed. Experience
working in a grocery store or food service establishment and experience
providing staff supervision or leadership is required. Experience
demonstrating an understanding of the cultural traditions, norms and
histories of low-income, urban African American, Latino and African
Immigrant communities sufficient to build effective relationships and
experience demonstrating an understanding of the complex challenges and
strengths present in poverty communities is required. NCRC (National Career
Readiness Certificate) is preferred. Must be able to lift up to 30# on a

Relief Workers
Relief Workers are needed to fill-in for regular staff who are on vacation,
ill, attending trainings, or are otherwise unavailable. Currently there is
specific need for relief workers at:
Substitute Crisis Intake Specialists are needed with our Harry's Mother
Program. The positions provide referral, initial case coordination and
advocacy for youth accessing the runaway and homeless youth system, as well
as youth referred by police. Crisis Intake Specialists II also provide
back-up support in answering the Child Abuse Crisis and Infomration hotline
during designated times and document all calls. Must be able to work
overnights, weekends and/or holidays. Bachelor's Degree in social service
field or equivalent education, training and experience is required; at least
one year experience in a setting requiring the identification and assessment
of the needs of adolescents is preferred. Driving is required for the
position. Beginning pay is $10-$10.50/hour (depending on whether CIS II

Substitute Direct Care Staff are needed at Buckman to work a variety of
shifts, including overnights. These positions oversee the day-to-day (or
overnight) operation of a residential independent living treatment program
for males, ages 17-24, who are re-entering the community from close custody
juvenile correction institutions or who are transitioning from such a
program into more independent living arrangements. Prefer Bachelor's Degree
in mental health or social services field or related experience plus
experience and/or clinical training in working with delinquent or
emotionally troubled adolescents. Experience working in a residential
setting is strongly preferred. Beginning pay is $10/hour. Please submit
