position summary:

The Program Coordinator will be responsible to plan and implement all programs for small nonprofit organization. Programs provide educational and recreational activities for children and teens with chronic kidney disease and their families in Oregon and SW Washington. Works remotely in the Portland metropolitan area and ability for some limited travel throughout Oregon/SW Washington

Required Skills and Abilities:Plan and facilitate events and programs to support all aspect of organization • Quarterly family activities & multiple teen only events throughout the year. • A seven day Camp in summer for youth and families, must be able to be on site at camp for 6 days and evenings. Recruit, Train and Manage Volunteers for Organization • Attend Volunteer recruitment events • Assist in the placement, management and tracking of volunteers • Fielding e-mails and phone calls from interested volunteers. Marketing and Promotion • Prepare promotional materials for each event. • Manage recruitment and registration for program events. • Write articles and contribute to Monthly Newsletter and Blog. • Contribute to Social Media efforts.
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritizes deadlines, work independently, take initiative, highly organized and maintain confidentiality • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams • Experience working with children and families. Knowledge of kidney disease helpful • Demonstrated experience successfully working with a variety of racial and ethnic groups • Fluency in Spanish a plus. • Event planning experience is preferred • Ability to lift and carry over 30 pounds • Availability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends • Ability to work remotely and willingness to use own mobile phone and home office including computer • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of database systems • Knowledge, familiarity and desire with nonprofit work preferred • Valid State driver's license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance • Satisfactory results from criminal background search
