position summary:

This employee will act as a Residential Youth Counselor for boys transitioning into independent living through The InnDependence Program. She or he will work on individual plans as set by the Case Manager and work to meet BRS requirements and act as advocate for youth. He or she will also lead groups in pro-social skills and assist youth in basic daily expectations. This employee will work together as part of a team with the Program Director, InnDependence Supervisor, and the Case Manager to ensure that the program needs are being met.

Schedule is:
Sunday 4-11
Monday 3-11
Tuesday 2-11
Friday 3-11
Saturday 3-11

Salary / Pay Rate:10.75/ hour plus benefits

Required Skills and Abilities:We are looking for someone who: * Has the ability to remain calm in crisis * Is efficient in paperwork and deadlines * Can make decisions as program needs fluctuate * Acknowledges and understands cultural differences * Is available for swing shift, holidays and weekends * Has an understanding of adolescent male population * Can act as a positive role model for adolescent boys ages 16-19 * Has experience or adaptability to work with and independent living program
Qualifications:* Previous experience in residential setting * Education in Social Services beneficial, B.A. helpful * Previous experience in social work * Ability to facilitate groups, such as SELF, DBT * CPI certification a plus * Familiarity with BRS systems beneficial * Working with high risk adolescent males
Education Required:High School or equiv.
