position summary: | Seeking a dynamic individual to fill the part-time position of Supervisor for a new Thrift Store located in SW Portland (Raleigh Hills). This Individual will assist the Thrift Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of the thrift store operations including the supervision of volunteers, acceptance of donations, sorting, pricing, merchandising, cash management, store operations, procedures, facility maintenance and cleanliness. Basic qualifications and skills applying candidates should have: An ideal candidate will have: The thrift store Supervisor will work 15-20 hours per week. The hours are flexible, but will include weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings. Additional hours may be required for special events. These events are usually held on weekends. |
Salary / Pay Rate: | $8.50-$9.50 per hour depending on experience |

Required Skills and Abilities: | Basic qualifications and skills applying candidates should have: At least a year of retail experience that includes; merchandising/displays, cash handling and restocking Three years of customer service experience. Able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25lbs regularly, use step stools and ladders without assistance and perform other physical tasks as need. Customer service skills in person, over the phone and via written communication. Organizational skills. Managing multiple tasks, people and operations. Creative problem solving. Computer knowledge; including the use of e-mail, Excel, Word and online sale sites. |
Qualifications: | An ideal candidate will have: Many years of experience in the retail industry and knowledge of thrift store operations. Outstanding customer service skills, both on the sales floor and in the back room. Exceptional communication skills in person, over the phone and via written communication. Managerial/Supervisory experience of paid staff and volunteers. Be a self-starter, facilitator, organizer, motivator and innovator. History of fostering teamwork and respect. Have a passion for working with people. Knowledge of collectibles & antiques. Ability to work cooperatively & effectively in a team environment. Advanced computer knowledge and the abilities to use a variety of software. |
