Sustainable Ag Curriculum Writer Wanted

*Position Summary:*

Working as an Independent Contractor, the Sustainable Agriculture
Curriculum Researcher/Writer* *will be part of the Bringing the Farm to
School project team at Friends of Family Farmers. The Sustainable
Agriculture Curriculum Researcher/Writer is responsible for developing
lesson plans appropriate for Pre-K through 3rd grade level students.
Effective communication and advanced writing skills are essential.
Candidates will ideally have experience in education and content
development in the areas of environmental education. Agricultural
experience is also beneficial.

*Responsibilities:*

Research and develop sustainable agriculture lessons that meet the Common
Core Standards;

Help with identifying grade level appropriate educators to classroom test
lesson plans;

Critique lessons, solicit and suggest enhancements and apply revisions;

Develop and maintain an educator/program supporter database.

*Requirements:*

Experience in education and delivering instructional materials;

Experience in content research and development;

Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent ability to stay
organized and manage deadlines;

Solid computer skills.

*Education:*

Degree in Education desired, but equivalent content area expertise in
agricultural education or similar considered.

*Working Dates:* April 2012 through June 2012

This is a 10-hour/week, two-month contract position and requires a
combination of Molalla office-based and home-based work hours.

*Compensation:* $18-20/hour based on experience

*Location:* The job is based one day minimum per week at the Friends of
Family Farmers office, located in Molalla. A carpool from the Portland
area to Molalla is available. Additional work can be done from home.
