IDA-Africa's mission is to provide sanctuary for chimpanzee orphans in Cameroon, and to promote the social and cultural conditions which ensure endangered great apes survive and thrive in their natural habitats.

IDA-Africa wages an extensive public education and sensitization campaign against the illegal commercial bushmeat trade and its Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center provides sanctuary in forested habitat for nearly 70 chimpanzees orphaned by the illegal bushmeat trade.

Educational Options Coordinator at De Paul Treatment Centers

De Paul serves the greater Portland community by providing drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. We are currently seeking a part-time Educational Options Coordinator to join our teaching team and provide educational services and instruction to the residential clients at De Paul Youth Treatment Center attending our Alternative School. Position is responsible for curriculum development and planning, with an emphasis on GED planning and coordinating career/life skills. The Educational Options Coordinator will work with approximately 18-22 students of high school age, although specific educational levels may vary, and provide individualized instructional programs for each student. Must be available during school hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

We are currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Counselor for our Hillsboro facility. Counselor position provides professional treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Candidates must be familiar with strength based counseling and have knowledge of dual diagnosis, SOC and MI. BA required, MA or CADC preferred. Position is M-F, evening hours required. Bilingual and bicultural applicants are encouraged to apply.

Working Artists Gallery in conjunction with Portland City Art introduces rdEVOLUTION, an exhibit that goes beyond the typical art show, challenging artists and viewers to think, "What's next?" in relation to the well-being of earth's residents.

The showing will be highlighted by three key events in September and October. Artists, patrons, and fans of the Portland arts community are needed to help with preparations. Volunteers are invited to assist with one or more events by attending an informational volunteer meeting on Friday August 22nd or contacting meeting organizers.
