"Help us reclaim our conference room!"

"Help us reclaim our conference room!"

Small, statewide civil rights non-profit based downtown Pdx is overrun with old paper documents that need to be scanned for archival. Once archived we can have them shredded and reclaim our only conference room...

It isn't glamorous work but we could really use your help! Sadly, we don't have a budget for the project but this would make a great short-term assignment for someone looking to enter the job market for the 1st time, or re-enter the job market after an absence, or otherwise just beef up on ofc equipment skills and build an exemplory job reference.

Nonprofit News

The Return of the Everyone Welcome Community Choir

Fall is a time of ingathering and taking comfort in the fullness of the season – what better way to celebrate and renew community than through the joy of singing with others, under the tutelage of the ever-fabulous teacher (and musician) Anne Weiss at the Everyone Welcome Community Choir? Those who have attended before know that Mondays are the time to sing out and get rid of all that stress of daily life, now that the time for laidback summer is gone. The First Fall session will start on September 8 with six weeks of classes on September 8, 15, and 22, and October 13, 20, and 27.*

PSU Feminisms Conference Call For Proposals

Feminisms Conference Call For Proposals

The 2008 Feminisms Conference planning committee is now soliciting program proposals. The workshop sessions of the conference are designed to provide a forum for attendees to explore topics related to the conference theme of “Under Pressure: Women, Leadership, and Oppression” through workshops, panel discussions, and presentations.

Proposals will ideally address one or more of the following topics:

 how gender oppression cannot be addressed without understanding oppression based on race, class, ethnicity, and sexuality

 how oppressions intersect to further marginalize and disenfranchise women

 how marginalization hinders women from achieving their full potential
