Experience Level: Minimum 2 years experience in development in a non-profit setting. 

Experience in more than one of the following areas of development preferred including: foundation & government grant writing and administration, major donor support, corporate support, special events, direct mail, communications, and database management.

Education:  College degree required.

Salary:  40K or based on experience.

The Upward Bound Project works with low income 9th through 12th graders enrolled in David Douglas High School who are the first in their families to attend college. The Upward Bound Project provides extended day tutoring (at David Douglas) and six-week intensive college level classes (at Mt. Hood Community College) in mathematics, laboratory science, foreign language, composition and literature to prepare participants to enter and graduate from college.

Animal Aid Development Director opportunity, Beaverton

Animal Aid, a non-profit dog and cat rescue organization with a small shelter, is seeking an experienced part time development director to increase current donor contributions and develop new individual, corporate and foundation donors. 

Bachelor’s degree in development, fundraising, public relations or related field and at least 3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a non-profit, advocacy or other community based organization.  Public speaking experience and a sense of humor are a must as well as a strong interest in animal rescue/welfare.  Will work some of the time in the shelter so must not have cat allergies.

Volunteering

Warming Center Overnight Volunteer - Homeless Families need your help this winter!

The Warming Center is a program of Human Solutions and Multnomah County, and offers several families a warm place to stay from 7pm to 7am every night – so families and their children don’t have to sleep out in the cold.

A staff member of Human Solutions will open up the Warming Center and stay through the night, closing the center the next morning.  At least two volunteers are needed to provide supervisory support to the families staying at the Warming Center.

There will be two shifts for Overnight Volunteers, including:

Half Shift:      6:30pm – 11:30pm

Full Shift:       7:00pm – 7:00am

The duties of the Overnight Volunteers include:

Founded by volunteers in 1998, The ReBuilding Center is the nation’s largest non-profit reuse center for salvaged construction and remodeling materials.

The Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages will be hosting an "after hours" volunteer group on December 18, 6:00-8:30. We will be working in the warehouse to organize inventory and make the place look lovely for holiday shoppers. We really need some extra hands, so please come and bring a friend...or five! Volunteers Needed~Rigler Multicultural Craft & Food Night

Volunteers needed December 11 for Rigler SUN’s Multicultural Craft & Food Night! Celebrate our school’s diverse community at our annual Multicultural Craft & Food Night!

Students and families will participate in craft workshops to make holiday gifts and decorations as well as sample different cuisines from local restaurants.

Volunteers are needed from 5:30-8:30. Tasks will include: welcoming families to the school, assisting children with crafts, managing transitions between workshops, and cleaning up.

Planting Native Shrubs on the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Saturday 2009 Plantings on February 7, 14, 21, 28

Description: The Friends of Tualatin River NWR are restoring a 15 acre site along the Tualatin River by planting native trees and shrubs with the goal of recreating a fish and wildlife-friendly habitat similar to that which existed 200 years ago. No experience necessary. Families with children are welcome.
