Voluntary Simplicity Discussion Course

Northwest Earth Institute will be offering their "Voluntary Simplicity" discussion course, hosted at Seven Corners New Seasons store. When: Starting Jan. 12th, 2009, 7-8:30pm Every Monday at 7pm through Feb. 16th Where: 1954 SE Division St. Cost: $20 for course book What: A discussion course developed by the Northwest Earth Institute. In this five week course we will: •Gain an understanding of the meaning of voluntary simplicity •Explore the material and psychological distractions that prevent us from caring for the Earth •Consider how life might be enriched through the practice of simplicity

SOS: Hats & Scarves Winter Warming Project

Please help us share some home-made warmth this winter!

If you like to knit, crochet, or sew, and can make a hat or scarf (or a few, or a bunch) in the coming month, we’ll find appreciative homes for them with Portland children (and parents and other folks who need them) through Living Earth’s community partners in NE and SE Portland. Here’s how it will work:

Downtown PDX Office temporary sublet

Temporary sublet available in central downtown office (SW 3rd & Alder). Space for 2-3 people. Includes furniture, copier/work room access, kitchen access, internet and utilities (not phones). Available from January-July 2009. Environmentally minded organization or individual preferred.
